It can be confusing to hear words like neurotoxin, Dysport and Botox. Well: all anti-wrinkle injections are neurotoxins. (Keep reading to find out how they work!). So under the main category of neurotoxins, there are different brand names. Glacial Lakes Aesthetics is so proud to offer multiple brands:

Think of these brands as Coke, Pepsi, RC Cola and so on. They are very similar, but some have quicker onset, or the brand might last longer. Another difference is the “units” used. This is a way we measure the amount injected. The brands aren’t interchangeable when it comes to units, but we can always walk you through what quantity we think would work best. We have brand-loyal clients who stick to the same injection every time. Other times our clients sometimes switch brands to get a fresh version of anti-wrinkle injections! But one thing that’s the same among the brands is how they smooth wrinkles!
How Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Work?
Anti-wrinkle injections use a toxin that blocks the messages from nerves to muscles. This means muscles can’t contract….so the result is relaxed muscles! And when those facial muscles are relaxed, your wrinkles will be greatly relaxed (aka smooth!!) Awesome!

What to Expect & How Long Will My Anti-Wrinkle Injections Last?
When you come in for your session we will discuss goals, facial muscle anatomy, your budget and options for neurotoxin brands. Then we inject…using the tiniest of needles. Our clients relax and close their eyes; they are comfortable and require no pain management.
You can head right back to your daily life…no downtime is needed. Many other cosmetic procedures have “look worse before you look better,” but not anti-wrinkle injections. The neurotoxins kick in within a week or 2 (some even sooner!). Then you can expect smooth sailing!
Treatments last between 3-5 months for most people. We encourage clients to book their next session: that way, your time is reserved, you can avoid wrinkles returning and don’t worry, we will send you a reminder!

One amazing option is to set up concierge parties. This is an event where we come to you! That’s right, you don’t even have to come in. We ask that at least 5 clients book services & then we pick a time and place that works for you!
